Lafayette Police are looking for the person(s) responsible for the theft of an expensive accordion.

The $1,100 accordion was stolen from the rear seat of a GMC Sierra truck that was parked on South Pierre Street while the owner attended Festival Internationale in downtown Lafayette Saturday night.

“It was a King brand, that was normally kept in a box lined with red felt,”  owner William Blake said.

Blake said he had taken the accordion out of the box and placed it behind the rear seat while attending the festival.

On Sunday he was scheduled to play during a performance with a Zydeco band at a local pub.

Anyone with information on this crime is urged to call Lafayette Police.
