Every week during the school year, KLFY Sports has featured our Athlete of the Week’s brought to you by Coke.

On Wednesday, KLFY held it’s 2nd Annual Athlete of the Week Banquet, where we crowned two scholarship winners.  A panel of judges here at KLFY, selected the top five girls and the top five boys who were honored at the banquet held at KLFY, and catered by Stacy Landry’s Catering. 

Our Female Athlete of the Year, Sydnei Simon plays for Notre Dame Softball.  She led the Lady Pios to an undefeated 32-and-oh record, which included the 2019 State Softball Championship. 

Our Male Athlete of the Year, Adrain Eaglin, led his Beau Chene Gators Soccer team to the State Semi-Finals this season. He earned State MVP Honors, as well. 

 Both were excited to be selected as the KLFY/Coke Scholarship Winners.  

 Adrian Eaglin says  “It’s a big event and I couldn’t have done it without God, my parents and everyone who supported me.  So, I want to thank coke for this award too.””

Sydnei Simon added “It’s an honor to win because to be truthful, I don’t really win things a whole lot. But, it was our goal to finish the season undefeated and then we wanted to keep it that way into the postseason through district and all of the playoffs.”
