A new report suggests post-Hurricane Katrina progress for black residents in New Orleans has not been as good as in white households.
The report was released Friday in New Orleans by the Urban League of Greater New Orleans and the National Urban League.
The report says the African-American community has made educational gains since the storm, but has not increased its median income as much as white households.
The report says the number of African-American children younger than 18 living in poverty in the city grew by 6.5 percent from 2005 to 2013.
The Urban League data shows an 18 percent increase in the gap between the median income of African-American households and white households in the city.
