NEW IBERIA, La. (KLFY)- Daspit Elementary was placed on temporary lock down Thursday morning as a precaution during a nearby arrest.

According to the US Marshal’s Office, the agency was assisting the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office in locating a suspect in New Iberia.

The individual was found in a residence and the scene has been cleared, authorities said.
