Lafayette Police say an investigation is underway after a body was discovered, earlier this week, at an apartment complex.

According to Police Spokesperson Corporal Bridgette Dugas, a body was discovered Thursday at the Quarters Apartment Complex at 501 Stewart Street in Lafayette.

Dugas said the coroner’s office has not made a ruling on an official cause of death.  

She said police will conduct a formal investigation, however a preliminary investigation does not reveal that the death occurred under suspicious circumstances.

No further information was released.
