Rain showers are expected to move through much of Acadiana tonight along with a strong arctic cold front.  During the time frame of 3:00am to 7:00am Tuesday morning, a few areas of Acadiana could see the rain try to transition into a wintry mix of snow and/or sleet.  The ground will be much too warm for anything to stick and the surface temperatures should stay well above freezing in most of Acadiana tonight, which means travel impacts are not expected.  Little to no accumulation is forecasted for the area besides a dusting on grassy surfaces, if the rain can transition into a light snow.

Further north, in Rapides and Avoyelles Parish a Winter Weather Advisory is posted for 2:00am to 9:00am Tuesday.  Snow chances are slightly better in addition to surface temperatures nearing 32° tonight.  A dusting of snow or accumulations a little bit more are possible.  Black ice could form on elevated roadways and bridges early Tuesday morning, use caution when traveling into the northern parts of the state.  Any ice that may develop will quickly melt Tuesday as temperatures climb above freezing with a mostly sunny sky.
