CROWLEY, La. (KLFY) — UPDATE, JUNE 17, 3 p.m.: A juvenile suspect has been charged in the shooting at a Crowley apartment complex that struck one person in the head, according to Sheriff K.P. Gibson.
A 17-year-old suspect has been charged with illegal discharge of a firearm, illegal possession of a firearm by a juvenile, possession of stolen property, and negligent injury.
Investigation determined that the suspect was handling a handgun when there was an accidental discharge. The bullet struck the victim on the side of his head. The victim is listed in critical but stable condition at an area hospital.
ORIGINAL, JUNE 17, 8:42 a.m.: One person was shot in the head Wednesday afternoon after a shooting incident at Meadows Apartments just outside of Crowley, according to Acadia Parish Sheriff K.P. Gibson.
The victim is listed in critical but stable condition at a local hospital, Gibson said. No information on a suspect has been released, though Gibson said the suspect has been identified by deputies.
The investigation continues.
