UPDATE, 9/5 — Officials with the waterworks say the boil advisory has been lifted.

Pecan Island Waterworks District 3 is under a boil advisory until further notice.

Officials say only about 40% of Pecan Island currently has water.

Residents will be notified when the water is safe to drink.
