LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – The Board of Directors of Acadiana Animal Aid, a no-kill animal shelter and nonprofit organization in Lafayette announced the hire of the new Executive Director, Jeanine Foucher.

This selection comes after an extensive nation-wide search.

“Jeanine’s strategic, big picture vision, along with her extensive experience are just a few of the impressive qualities that she brings to our organization,” said Melinda Falgout, Board President of Acadiana Animal Aid. “Her experience, vision, strategic planning, and positive, teamwork attitude are the most important qualifications that she brings to our area. We are very excited to have her on our team and look forward to working with her to create a Lafayette that truly inspires a healthy community through compassion for animals.”

Jeanine Foucher is a native New Yorker with more than 20 years’ experience in the nonprofit sector. She was most recently the Executive Director of Pet Net Washington, a family foundation in Seattle, Washington. In her role as executive director, she provided leadership, vision, and strategic direction to fulfill the foundation’s mission of ending the euthanasia of adoptable animals and reducing animal overpopulation in Washington state.

In 2017, Foucher undertook a statewide data collection project to help inform and prioritize the life-saving strategies of a Washington state coalition to establish a No-Kill Washington. She has served as a fundraiser, project manager, event producer, and a grant maker.
