(The Daily Advertiser)- The three small, boxed-in, clay-based courts on the north side of Girard Park might look like they’re for boccie.
But don’t tell that to Mike LeBlanc, s’il vous plait.
They’re pétanque courts, and he helped to build them in about 2007 to promote his and Acadiana’s French heritage. La Boule Cadienne de Lafayette, the local pétanque club led by LeBlanc, maintains the courts.
This week, in the middle of the 11th International Lafayette Pétanque Festival, you never know who you’ll find there.
