IBERIA PARISH, La. (KLFY) — A man and a woman are dead after their side-by-side utility vehicle ran into a drainage ditch embankment Sunday in Iberia Parish.

Renee Landry Hoffpauir and Chad Stansbury, both 58, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies say they responded to the call around 5:30 p.m. in the 7400 block of Danielle Road.

An initial investigation revealed the utility vehicle ran off the sugarcane field headland and into a drainage ditch embankment.

The crash remains under investigation.
