UPDATE: George Louis is still in shock after witnessing the aftermath of the tragic death of a 16-year-old girl.
Moments before her death Louis helped the teen, now identified as Ja’nya Hebert, and a group of her friends jump her car.
Louis says after the group of girls pulled off, he heard a lot of chaos.
He says this is when everything took a turn for the worse.
He, his children and his girlfriend were getting ready to go to the store.
Once the gunshots rang out, they ran for cover.
Moments later Louis and his girlfriend ran to see what was going on, and that’s when he saw the same girl he just helped lying on the ground.
“She had been shot in the back.”
Louis’s girlfriend helped as much as she could before law enforcement arrived.
There was not much she could do.
Louis says the hard part is knowing that his children witnessed all of the chaos.
He says this makes him want to be a better father to his children and any other child in need of help and guidance.
