CHURCH POINT, La. (KLFY) – Authorities are investigating an early morning shooting that left a man dead in Church Point.

Police Chief Albert Venable identified the victim as 34-year-old Allan White.

White was shot in the chest around 1:55 a.m. He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Venable said a suspect in police custody and is being interviewed at this time.

The shooting remains under investigation.
