LAFAYETTE, LA (KLFY) – One suspect in an attempted armed robbery in Scott has been arrested while another remains at large.

Elijah James Latigue of Lafayette was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center Thursday for warrants obtained by Scott Police Department.

Investigators say Latigue and a still unidentified black male broke into a business located in the 100 block of Pecan Grove in Scott on April 12, 2016.

The owner was inside the building at the time and fired one shot, striking Latigue after he saw Latigue point a handgun towards him.

The second suspect fled on foot.

Latigue was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for his injuries and upon his discharge officers took him into custody.

He was charged with Attempted First Degree Murder, Aggravated Burglary, Simple Criminal Damage to Property and Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.

His bond is set at $115,000.

Meanwhile, Scott Police are still looking for information to identify the second suspect.

He is described as a 20-25 year old black male, approximately 6′ tall with a thin build.

He was last seen wearing a long sleeved blue shirt, dark jeans, brown work gloves and dark colored shoes.
