Iberia Parish Sheriff Ackal presented Life Saving Awards to Deputy Joel Leleux and Corporal Adam Trahan.

In May, Deputy Leleux and Corporal Trahan responded to an incident in the Iberia Parish Jail.  When they arrived they discovered an inmate had attempted a suicide.  They found the inmate unresponsive and not breathing.  The deputies immediately began CPR and after several minutes the inmate had a pulse and began breathing.  The inmate was hospitalized and has since recovered.

“Because of Deputy Leleux and Corporal Trahan’s quick response and training, a life was saved,” said Sheriff Ackal when he presented the awards to the deputies.
