NEW IBERIA, La. (KLFY) – Iberia Parish Sheriff’s deputies are currently looking for two suspects who allegedly opened fire on a group of people and injured a young man.

The shooting happened around 11:25 a.m. in the 600 block of Hopkins Street.

Captain Wendell Raborn said “two black males wearing hoodies” approached a group of young men and opened fire on them for unknown reasons.

An 18-year-old male was hit in the leg and was taken to a local hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
