Many businesses offer special meals and other freebies on Veterans Day to those who have served in the military.

Here’s a look at some of the offerings you’ll find at Lafayette restaurants this year.

Proof of service is typically required — whether in the form of a military ID, uniform, discharge papers, VA card or veteran organization membership card.

Because Veterans Day falls on a Saturday, some restaurants and other businesses are offering deals on Friday or Monday instead.

All of the specials are available to current and retired military personnel Saturday unless otherwise noted.
