Three Acadiana residents have been arrested and accused of stealing from a Scott business.
It happened last Sunday in the 600 block of Westgate Rd.
According to Police Chief Chad Leger, witnesses observed a woman taking items from a store shelf and then leave without paying.
When officers arrived, the same witnesses pointed out the suspect in the parking lot, Leger said.
32-year-old Adrienne King of Maurice, 40-year-old Christopher Fisher of Lafayette, and 25-year-old Randi Manuel of Weisner were located sitting in the vehicle, Leger said.
When Police approached, Leger said, King admitted to taking several makeup items from the business without paying.
Officers then searched the vehicle and found additional stolen merchandise,and a large amount of drugs including several plastic bags containing marijuana, methamphetamine, powder cocaine, a vial of testosterone with a syringe filled with suspected testosterone, an assortment of prescription medication pills, and some drug paraphernalia, Leger said.
Police returned the stolen items to area businesses, and then arrested the three suspects and transported them to the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center, Leger said.
The charges include possession of schedule I, possession of schedule II, possession of schedule III, possession of schedule IV, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
