LEONVILLE, La. (KLFY)— Three people were arrested and two teens hospitalized after an after football game party involving several intoxicated juveniles was investigated, authorities said.

Sheriff Bobby Guidroz told KLFY that on August 27, deputies investigated a complaint of a house party involving juveniles after the St. Landry Football Jamboree.

According to the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office, Bobby and Connie Johnston allegedly hosted a party after a football game at their home in Leonville where there were several intoxicated juveniles.

Authorities estimate that approximately 250 to 300 guests attended between the ages of 14-years-old to 23-year-old. The group consisted of several high school students from different schools.

Deputies said they learned that at the party juveniles were charged an admission to attend the party and sold alcohol.

Major Eddie Thibodeaux told News10 that Adam Meche admitted to collecting a fee of $5.00 per driver and $3.00 per passenger. Thibodeaux also said that one of the alleged party host Bobby Johnston also admitted to charging guest to attend but stated it was to pay for the disc jockey.

Authorities said there was no disc jockey hired to play music, only a stereo set up near a barn with two large speakers.

Juveniles gave statements that they were being charged $2.00 a beer from out of the bar. However, the person tending the bar and serving alcohol is currently unknown, according to a news release.

Deputies stated, Connie Johnston, one of the alleged party host stated that someone in the crowd begun flipping tables in the back yard around 1:30 a.m., she added that her husband then turned off the music and warned the group that “he would stop the party if they acted like animals.”

According to police, Connie stated to deputies that a fight broke out and by the time she arrived, the fight it was over and she saw nine males run to their cars.

Two juveniles were injured in the fight, one suffered a broken jaw and had to undergo surgery. The other received a cut over his eye requiring stitches. Additional arrests are charges are forthcoming for second-degree battery and simple robbery committed at the party, authorities said.

The sheriff said he instructed investigators and deputies to investigate all complaints regarding underage drinking in St. Landry Parish.

“If any adult is found to have given, sold, or sponsored an event where underage students or underage children are allowed to consume alcohol, they will be held accountable and charged accordingly.”

He warned that anyone hosting a party, “should be aware should be aware that they could be held criminally and personally liable for the actions of their guests while at their party.”

Deputies arrested Bobby Johnston, 52, of Leonville. He was charged with five counts of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile and five counts of unlawful sales of alcohol to a person under the age of 21. His bond was set at $12,500.

Connie M. Johnston, 48, of Leonville, was charged with five counts of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile and five counts of unlawful sales of alcohol to a person under the age of 21. her bond was set at $12,500.

Adam Meche, 32, of Arnauldville, was charged with three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. His bond was set at $4,500.
