The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Dept. was able to get a significant amount of drugs off the streets of Acadiana during an overnight patrol.
Public Information Officer John Mowell said deputies with the uniformed patrol division responded to the 300 block of Malapart Road in reference to a burglar alarm activation.
Upon arrival at the scene, deputies noticed suspicious behavior from the occupant and others that ultimately led to the seizure of a stolen Glock pistol, 860 MDMA (Ecstasy) pills valued at $25,800, 516.9 grams of Marijuana valued at $10,338, along with other drug paraphernalia.
Upon conclusion of the investigation, deputies arrested 23 year old Tylan J. Edmond in connection with the incident and booked him into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.
Edmond was charged with possession with the intent to distribute schedule I narcotics, prohibited acts, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, illegal carrying of weapons, and iIllegal possession of a stolen firearm.
