Three former and two current employees of the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office pleaded guilty Tuesday to their roles in beating inmates at the Iberia Parish Jail.

The current employees are 34 year old Byron Lassalle of Erath and 35 year old Bren Klein Broussard of Broussard.

Authorities say 46 year old Robert Burns, of Youngsville, 40 year old Wade Bergeron of Milton, and 36 year old Wesley Hayes of St. Martinville are no longer employed with the Sheriff’s Office.

Each defendant faces 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine for each count with the exception of Burns who faces one year in prison and a $100,000 fine.

They all face three years of supervised release.
