After the death of her 82 year old mother, Joleslie Looney, 56 of Baton Rouge, has been convicted of manslaughter.

State District Judge Mike Erwin will sentence Looney on April 10.  She may face up to 40 years of prison. 

Coroner Dr. William Clark said Bessie Looney died  in September 2014 from a blood infection which was caused from untreated bed sores. The autopsy revealed Bessie was suffering from multiple illnesses also while being emaciated. 

Joleslie’s daughter, 21 year old, Lauren Looney is also scheduled to stand trial for manslaughter on March 19.
