ACADIANA, La. (KLFY)—As Acadiana continues to try to clean up and dry out from the rainfall we received over the past couple of days.
To get a better perspective of the massive flooding across our region KLFY went up in a plane with pilot Ken Fontenot in his four-seat Moody this afternoon to get the view.
We started in Eunice where there is a lot of flooding behind the Walmart and by Eunice High, a lot of homes had a substantial amount of water in them.
Next, we headed to Jennings where a landing strip was completely surrounded by water.
In Lake Arthur, where everyone had been asked to leave. The lake was approximately twice the size it was before all the rain.
Highway 14 in Abbeville, trucks were struggling to cross roads because of high water.
Heading out of Abbeville on 67, one lane was flooded and the other open with cars struggling to get through the water.
Over in Crowley I-10 is flooded in certain parts and blocked off at impassable parts.
Finishing in Youngsville which had tons of flooding, but looking as if most of the water had receded.
