Crime Stoppers of Acadia Parish are asking for the public’s assistance in searching for suspects in a home invasion and several home burglaries occurring in the 400 block of Oak Street in the 6100 block of Standard Mill Road and in the 200 block of Trail South Road.
Acadia Parish Sheriff K.P. Gibson says deputies are investigating a home invasion in the 6100 block of Standard Mill Road.
“Two individuals forcibly entered a residence with weapons…ordered the homeowner who was asleep to open up his safe where they either had knowledge that the safe was in there or knew it was in there…removed several fire alarms some jewelry and some currency within there,” Sheriff Gibson adds.
The Rayne City Police Department is investigating a home burglary on Oak Street.
Sheriff Gibson says, “They’re investigating a residential burglary where a person was out of town on vacation…returned home and found two smart televisions stolen. At this time they believe the point of entry was a window on the residence.”
The search is on for suspects in another home burglary, this one on Trail South Road just south of Crowley.
Gibson explains, “A person entered by force by breaking a window going in.. stealing a home safe and passing other items that possibly should’ve been stolen his valuables and so forth. That’s another one that indicates that possibly someone who had knowledge of that property being there.”
Sheriff Gibson says they have leads they’re working in the home invasion.
