ACADIA PARISH, La. (KLFY)-  A Scott man is facing first degree murder and aggravated burglary charges after his ex-wife was shot to death inside a Mire home this morning.

Deputies responded to an address in the 200 block of Estella Lane north of Mire. The victim, identified as 40-year-old  Amy Bernard Bourque, was living with relatives at the time she was killed.

“Early this morning the victim’s estranged husband came to the location and shot the victim. The victim died on scene,” Acadia Parish Sheriff K.P. Gibson said. 

Deputies with the assistance of Scott Police were able to locate the suspect and arrest him. He has been identified as Paul Dale Bourque Sr., 54. Bourque has been booked into the Lafayette Parish Jail and will be taken to the Acadia Parish Jail on the charges of aggravated burglary and first degree murder.

Additional charges are pending, Gibson said.
