With Hurricane Harvey dumping rain all across Texas and Louisiana creating hazardous conditions on roadways, school administrators throughout parishes around Acadiana have taken precautionary steps and made the decision to cancel school on Monday.SCHOOL CLOSURES:

Jeff Davis Parish public schools will be closed Monday, 8/28.
Iberia Parish public schools will be closed Monday, 8/28.
Lafayette Parish public schools will be closed Monday, 8/28.
St. Landry Parish public schools will be closed Monday, 8/28.
St. Martin Parish public schools/offices will be closed, Monday, 8/28.
Vermilion Parish public schools will be closed Monday, August 28, and Tuesday, August 29, 2017.
Calcasieu Parish public schools will be closed Monday, 8/28.
All Catholic schools in Lafayette, Vermilion, St. Martin, St. Landry, Iberia and Acadia Parishes will be closed Monday, 8/28.

Sylvan Learning Centers in Broussard, Lafayette and New Iberia closed Monday 8/28.OPENINGS:
-The University of Louisiana at Lafayette has announced that classes will be held as scheduled on Monday, Aug. 28, 2017.
Students who are not able to travel to classes should contact professors to discuss their situation. If a student needs further assistance, he or she can contact the Dean of Students Office at deanofstudents@louisiana.edu or 337-482-6276.
Faculty and staff members who are unable to travel to work should contact their immediate supervisor.
The University continues to monitor the National Weather Service’s forecasts of Tropical Storm Harvey. Should weather conditions change, information will be provided at official University websites and social media, or via the emergency notification system.
-All South Louisiana Community College campuses will be open Monday, August 28, 2017. Classes will be held as scheduled. Administrtators say students can check email for additional information.
-All courthouses in the 15th Judicial District will be opened Monday.
