BATON ROUGE, La. (WWL) A pair of University of Alabama students broke into LSU’s Tiger Stadium overnight and scratched the eye of the tiger at midfield, according to an ESPN report.

The vandalism came 24 hours before Saturday night’s huge matchup between LSU and Alabama in Death Valley.

The students, who are said to be from Maryland, were identified as Timothy Foley, 18, and Sean McGinity, 18. They were issued a summons and released by the LSU Police Department, according to ESPN.

LSU police said they could not release any information at that time.

ESPN’s Marty Smith said he spoke with David Taylor, LSU’s assistant athletic director for event management, who said the two men jumped a fence and were arrested at midfield.

Taylor said he got the call at 3 a.m.
