LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) Thousands of people packed the streets of Lafayette on Lundi Gras, to catch the Queen’s parade.

The route started at Pontiac Point and made it’s way through downtown, all the way to Cajun Field.

Elaborate floats were filled with many different beads and other throws for the crowd.

The krewe included, Queen Evangeline as well as the women’s Krewes of Attakaps, Victoria, and Xanadu.

Reigning as Queen Evangeline LXXIX, is Lauren Marie Guilliot, a graduate of St. Thomas More Catholic High School in 2017, and currently a freshman at University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
