Cody Guidry, an alleged member of the Gremlins Gang, has surrendered himself to authorities in Vermilion Parish.
Guidry is now the 12th person taken into custody following a major federal sweep of the Acadiana area since late last year.
The arrests have put a major dent in gang-related activity in the area, according to law enforcement officials.
Of the 17 alleged gang members listed in the federal indictment, only 5 now remain at large, according to police.
In December, authorities announced the arrest of 10 members of the “Gremlins Gang.”
Those arrested include: Roland Bernard, Gregory Bessard, Kendall Breaux, Kavan Broussard, Xavier Dyson, Andrew Granger, Wesley Laviolette, Stephen Walker, Gene Williams III, and Nakia Zenon, all from the Abbeville area.
Aaron Carter was arrested in February.
Wednesday, Guidry turned himself in near the Abbeville City jail.
Still at large are: Darren Carter, Travis Cooper, Jerran Diggs, Kirkland Demouchet, and Johnathan Landry, all identified as being from the Abbeville area.
