Our in-depth look at the state amendments on the ballot continues with Amendment 4, which addresses funding for traffic control.
Here’s what you’ll see on the ballot:

“The state of Louisiana has a transportation trust fund. The primary purpose of this fund is to utilize monies save money for capital projects only in the area of infrastructure. presently the fund allows some of that money not to go to infrastructure but to go to the state police for traffic control purposes. So it’s asking voters should 100% of the transportation trust fund go to infrastructure or can 20% of this money go to traffic control purposes.” says Joshua Stockley, Political Science Professor for the University of Louisiana at Monroe. “A vote in favor would now require that all the money be used for infrastructure. A vote against allows the current rules to stay in place where up to 20% can be used for traffic control purposes.”
