Acadiana is looking at another threat for heavy rains as a potent disturbance moves through the area on Thursday. Scattered showers are possible on Wednesday with showers becoming more widespread Wednesday night and throughout the majority of this Thursday. Rainfall could be heavy at times and most rain chances won’t end until late Thursday. At this time, rainfall estimates are 3-5″ inches for Acadiana with isolated areas receiving more. This is over a two day period but because the ground is extremely saturated flash flooding could become an issue. Highest threat for heavy rain will be Thursday.
