UPDATE: Two suspects have been captured according to St. Mary Parish Sheriffs Deputies.

The vehicle pursuit began in Jeanerette, authorities said.

Jeanerette City Marshal Fernest Martin said the suspects shot at a victim at a local business during an attempted carjacking. The victim was not injured, he said.

Authorities said possibly four suspects fled into St. Mary Parish in a four-door black Camry.

St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Whytley Jones said the suspects wrecked and abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot at Highway 317 in a wooded area near Burns Point.

They are believed to be armed and dangerous.
