A Breaux Bridge man is dead after his vehicle ran off a roadway and struck an embankment Friday morning.
The crash occurred shortly after midnight on LA 3039 near Dean Leblanc Road in St. Martin Parish.
Curtis Wolinski, 35, of Breaux Bridge was driving north on LA 3039 when, for an unknown reason, his 2005 Dodge Caravan ran off of the right side of the roadway, went through a ditch and struck an embankment.
Wolinksi was not wearing a seat belt at the time, according to State Police Master Trooper Brooks David.
The St. Martin Parish Coroner’s Office pronounced Wolinski dead on scene.
State Police suspect impairment to be a factor in this crash and a toxicology sample was taken from Wolinski for analysis.
This crash remains under investigation.
