ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PA (WTAE/CNN) The bond between a father and daughter is beating strong as she prepares for her wedding day.

Jeni Stepien’s father was killed in a robbery in 2006.

His heart went to a man named Arthur Thomas who desperately needed a transplant.

Jeni and Arthur met for the first time Friday, the day before her wedding.

“We’ve been talking to him, writing letters and calling and receiving flowers and gifts for the past 10 years and he’s finally here.

I feel like my family’s complete,” said Stepien.

She is getting married Saturday. Arthur will walk her down the aisle.
