UPDATE: Broussard Police received a complaint involving indecent behavior with a juvenile which led to the investigation of the owner/operator of Pearl Driving School in Broussard.

According to a press release, on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at approximately 7:00 a.m., Investigators with the Broussard Police Department along with Homeland Security and agents from the Attorney General’s Office executed a search warrant at 4016 US Hwy 90 at the business of Pearl Driving School. 

Broussard Police investigators and the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office also executed a search warrant at the business owner’s residence in Eunice simultaneously. 

The Louisiana State Police Driver’s Education Compliance unit is involved as well.

Investigators seized files, digital storage devices and computer devices from the business which will be forensically analyzed. Interviews were conducted and a juvenile victim stated that the suspect Roy Thompson spoke to her about sexual related things and made her feel uncomfortable.

The owner, Roy Thompson (w/m 60 YOA of Eunice) was interviewed and subsequently released until further evidence can be obtained, according to the release.  

This is an active and on-going investigation which could result in charges, the release states.  If anyone has information related to this case, you are urged to contact the Broussard Police Department at 337-837-6259.

ORIGINAL: Broussard Police executed a warrant at Pearl’s Driving School located at 4016 Hwy 90 E, in Broussard.

The warrant was conducted Tuesday while students were in class.   

A police spokesperson confirmed the warrant, but also said that at no time was anyone in danger, and that the search was not related to anything violent.

When KLFY asked for information about the investigation, the spokesperson said that they were in the early stages of the matter, and that further information would be released at a later time.
