St. Martin Parish Sheriff Detectives have filed charges against two women from Breaux Bridge after a disturbance that took place earlier this month near Hebert Avenue and Benoit Road.

According to detectives, it happened March 11, shortly after 11:00 p.m., when deputies responded to the area in reference to a report of a large disturbance involving several subjects, along with a report of shots fired.

Investigators with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office were notified and initiated an investigation into the incident.

At the culmination of the investigation,  40-year-old Elizabeth Demouchet was arrested and charged  with principal to aggravated battery, principal to criminal damage to property, 1 count principal to simple burglary and 1 count criminal damage to property. 

18-year-old Marquia Mitchell, also from Breaux Bridge was arrested and charged with 1 count aggravated battery, 1 count criminal damage to property, and 1 count simple burglary. 

Detectives say both woman were booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center on the above charges.
