A recent study shows that there has been more than one mass shooting per day here in America just this year.

As a result, Acadia-St. Landry hospital in Church Point offered its staff active shooter training provided by Cover Six Training Academy. The academy, also stationed in Church Point, provides techniques and training in cases of an armed intruder. They say it’s time to re-shift our focus when it comes to these types of life threatening situations. The training provides tips on communication and how to provide medical treatment if someone is hurt. They also give hands-on demonstrations about how to react both logically and safely.

Although Cover Six is local, they say they travel anywhere in the country to provide training.
