SLIDELL, La. (AP) – Louisiana offered $765,000 in incentives for a plant with Turkish connections. It will fuse metal powders into precision parts.

St. Tammany Parish officials tell NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune the deal with Advanced Sinter Metal Technologies Inc. will bring 15 jobs at first, but could eventually bring 43.

The Slidell City Council last month approved a permit for the company. Louisiana Economic Development Secretary Don Pierson says it will make parts for automotive and other industries.

General Manager Andrew Herrington says one owner’s parents own a separate Turkish company that trained or employed all the people who will work at the Slidell plant.

Authorities say state incentives include $250,000 under the Economic Development Award program and $515,000 for the Quality Jobs program, and the parish committed $25,000.
