DOTD traffic officials warn drivers of expected delays on I-10 eastbound due to an ongoing construction project near Grosse Tete in Iberville Parish through the end of August.
The Department of Transportation and Development reminded drivers to expect heavy delays this weekend on I-10 East near Grosse Tete due to construction work. According to the DOTD website, the $6.3 million resurfacing project, located on I-10 from Ramah to the West Baton Rouge Parish line, will resurface approximately 6.3 miles of I-10.
The DOTD said since some work areas are located near the transitions between roadway pavement and a bridge/overpass, the work requires a more complex process which needs more time than typical overlay construction.
Work started February 2015 and it is expected to be completed by winter 2015.
