LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) -Police say a 62-year-old man, whose body was discovered behind an abandoned home Wednesday morning, died of natural causes.

Public Information Officer Karl Ratcliff identified the man as Michael Moore, of Lafayette.

The Lafayette Parish coroner’s office conducted an autopsy and ruled Moore died from natural causes due to several pre-existing critical illnesses.

Ratcliff declined to comment on the extent of the diseases but said Lafayette Police have closed the case.

Moore’s body was found around 9 a.m. Wednesday in the 400 block of Hobson Street.
