BREAUX BRIDGE, La. (KLFY)— One couple is teaching those willing to learn how to dance.

There’s something about good food and music that makes people want to dance. But if you’re a little shy or don’t have much rhythm, you can learn the basics of Cajun dancing at the Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival.

Besides good food and live music, a festival in South Louisiana isn’t complete without a little two step.

Every year Cal and Lou Courville give Cajun dance lessons at the Crawfish Festival.

The couple loves dancing and started in their teens as high school sweethearts.

“Danced in high school in college and we’re still dancing.” Lou Courville tells News 10, “We dance three or four times a week. It’s the only exercise we like to do.” Added Cal Courville.

The couple has been traveling for the past two decades sharing their love for dancing.

Cal tells News 10 that they teach dancing to thousands of people a year and work with tour groups from all over the world.

The Courville’s teach the waltz and two-step.

Their goal is to make everyone feel confident enough to hit the dance floor.

“Mostly dancing is reaction to music. Whether you really know how to do it or not you just get in there and let the music move you. We teach the lessons and then they can hop over to the stages and dance their hearts out.”

Lou states that when you’re at the festival and you hear music, you just have to dance because that’s part of the festival. She believes the world would be a better place if people would just dance.

“People always seem so angry. You have to be happy when you dance.”

If you’ll be able to catch this dancing couple all weekend long at the Breaux Bridge Tent.
