A Crowley man was arrested after police say he threatened to kill his ex-girlfriend, placing a gun to her head.

The incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. Saturday when police were called out to the 1800 block of May Street in response to a home Invasion and attempted homicide.

Police say they learned from the victim that earlier in the evening, her ex boyfriend broke into her home and ransacked the residence looking for a .32 caliber revolver.

She said once the suspect located the weapon, he used it to threaten her by putting her head to the kitchen counter and placing the gun to her head.

A few moments later, police say, the suspect told the victim that he was going to kill her and then fired one round at the victim from approximately ten feet away, barely missing the victim, police said. 

Police say they secured video evidence secured positively identified the suspect, and the alleged weapon was located and secured by police.

36-year-old Daniel Thibodeaux, of Crowley was arrested on 1 count of home invasion and 1 count attempted homicide.

Thibodeaux was transported to the Acadia Parish Jail Facility, police said.
