(KLFY) Some parishes in Acadiana have a curfew in place

Lafayette Parish

UPDATE: The only Lafayette Parish municipality with a curfew as of Monday, Oct. 12 is Duson, which will be in effect from 8 p.m. Monday to 6 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13. Only essential and emergency personnel in Duson will be allowed to travel.

Several locations in Lafayette Parish are still without power and some roadways remain obstructed. Lafayette Mayor-President Josh Guillory, after consultation with the Mayors, Chiefs of Police, and Chiefs of Fire in Lafayette Parish, is strongly advising all Parish residents not under curfew to continue to stay off roadways unless travel is absolutely necessary. Several utility and debris removal crews remain active across the Parish and it is important that they be allowed to continue recovery operations without the risk of putting residents or themselves in danger.   

Iberia Parish

A parish-wide curfew will go into effect beginning Friday, Oct. 9 from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. and on Saturday, Oct. 10 from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. and continuing each day thereafter until terminated by the parish government

NEW IBERIA: The City of New Iberia has issued a city-wide curfew. The curfew is in effect beginning Thursday, October 8, at 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. and Friday, October 9, from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m.

Emergency personnel will be allowed on the roadways during the set curfew times. The New Iberia Police Department reminds citizens to stay safe throughout the storm including during the aftermath.

Also, note that the New Iberia Fire Department Rescue services will be limited during the hurricane as a safety precaution. The non-emergency number for the New Iberia Police Department is (337) 369-2306.

St. Landry Parish

UPDATE: As of 6 a.m. Saturday ( 10/10) The town of Grand Coteau will be extending its curfew until Monday morning, ending at 8 a.m. according to Police Chief Wilton Guidry due to several power lines being down along with utility poles with transformers still attached.

St. Landry Parish, La. (SLP) A curfew will be in effect between noon Friday, October 9, through 8 a.m. Saturday, October 10. Only essential workers responding to Hurricane Delta’s recovery should be on the roads during this time.

Acadia Parish

UPDATE: A parish-wide curfew will be in effect for Acadia Parish, including all municipalities, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. beginning Monday, Oct. 13, 2020, until further notice.

UPDATE: Church Point will have a curfew for all walking and driving traffic from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. within the corporate limits. Several people are having to be advised over and over about the curfew and about walking the streets during curfew. Effective this date there will be no more warnings you will be cited or arrested if caught walking the streets after curfew.

St. Martin Parish

UPDATE: Curfew For St. Martin Parish Residents Beginning At 7 p.m. On Saturday, October 10 until 7 a.m. On Sunday, October 11, 2020.

Jeff Davis Parish

Jeff Davis parish wide curfew will be in effect beginning Thursday, October 8, 2020 at 10:00 pm until sunrise each day until the mandatory evacuation is lifted.

Evangeline Parish

VILLE PLATTE: The City of Ville Platte has imposed a curfew from 12 a.m. on Friday to 8 a.m. on Saturday

Vermilion Parish

ABBEVILLE: UPDATE: The City of Abbeville will have a mandatory curfew on Saturday, Oct. 10 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. to Sunday, Oct. 11, 2020.

MAURICE: The Village of Maurice under a curfew will be issuing a Village wide curfew of 4:00 Friday to 6am Saturday or longer as needed.
