According to report, the marine shop has been the victim of several burglaries where firearms were stolen. St. Landry Crime Stoppers spotlighted the burglaries on its weekly Crime of the Week segment asking for help in solving the burglaries.

Deputy Chief Eddie Thibodeaux, spokesman for Crime Stoppers says “Almost right after the segment aired tips started coming in.” Crime Stoppers then forwarded the tips to the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office for investigation. “The tip that broke the case involved the January 21st 2019 burglary where 13 handguns were stolen”, added Thibodeaux. After investigating numerous tips, a tip led detectives to Joshua Billedeau of Eunice.

ATF agents along with St. Landry detectives located Billedeau and began questioning him. Billedeau was advised of his Miranda rights and agreed to answer questions. During the interrogation, he admitted to being in possession of a handgun and that he purchased the weapon from Madison Boone. Boone is known by the ATF and detectives with both Eunice Police Department and the sheriff’s office for burglaries.

Boone is currently booked in the parish jail, after being charged for multiple burglaries in the Eunice area.

Billedeau was arrested and processed in the parish jail. During booking it was learned that Billedeau was on parole and could not possess a firearm by a convicted felon.
