LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) The owner of Dixie Cab has lost a suspension appeal after failing to pay 966 outstanding redflex traffic camera tickets that totaled nearly $56,000.
Owner, Salah Yousef, argued before the council Tuesday night that drivers caught speeding should be held responsible for the ticket and not the company, but the council did not agree.
The Lafayette Consolidated Government will now indefinitely suspend all permits for Dixie Cab Inc. on Oct. 30 unless the fees are paid within the next 5 days or if Yousef comes up with some other payment arrangement.
Councilman William Theriot cast the only disenting vote, all other council members voted in favor of denying the appeal.
