Authoriities say the victim’s father, who was armed with a handgun, struck the suspect in the head with the butt of the weapon, causing him to fall off of the victim. The victim then ran next door while the father detained the suspect until law enforcement arrived.
Acadian Ambulance arrived and transported the victim to the hospital for medical treatment. The suspect identified as Vincent Latiolais was arrested and booked for one count attempted Second Degree Murder.
