A man was arrested Wednesday by Lafayette Police after a domestic violence shooting incident in north Lafayette.
According to police, 32 year old Craig Vallier has been charged with attempted second degree murder, domestic abuse battery, and felony possession of a firearm.
His arrest came following the investigation of a shooting that took place around 2 p.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of Doc Duhon Street.
Vallier is currently being held in the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on a $50,000 bond on the possession charges. No bond was set on the attempted second degree murder and domestic abuse battery charges.
Police say a female victim was shot during a domestic altercation and remains in critical condition at a local hospital.
