Cable barriers are being installed on I-10 in Jeff Davis Parish.
According to the Department of Transportation and Development, contractors began testing and recording tension in new cables last week.
DOTD says the multi- million dollar project will help prevent cars and other vehicles from cross over crashes.
The anticipated completion date is set for late, 2018.
