According to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, only right-hand turns will be allowed on Verot School Road in the section from Ambassador Caffery Parkway to Failla Road for the next two months. Left turns will only be allowed onto or off Verot School Road at newly constructed intersections.
Also, traffic won’t be allowed to cross Verot School Road at Digby Road. Temporary crossing and turn lanes will be available, instead, at the intersection of Camellia Boulevard and Artisan Road.
This is all part of the Verot School Road widening project which is expected to be completed by next year, according to the DOTD, but drivers say it’s been a headache since the start of the project.
Heather Shockley of Youngsville drives on Verot every day. She says waiting in backed-up traffic has become the norm, but she’s confident that once the project is done, her daily commute will be a breeze.
