A month long multi-jurisdictional narcotics investigation resulted in the recovery of over $65,000 in illicit drugs, $26, 358 in US Currency, Money Orders totalling $10,000 two firearms and two vehicles, according to police. 

Duson Police Chief Kip Judice said officers executed the initial search warrant in the 100 block of Kevin Drive resulting in the seizure of most of the drugs in what is believed to be a “stash house”.

Chief Judice said the residence was rented in June 2018 and remained uninhabited except for two vicious pit bull dogs, and a python snake which was inside the home as an additional deterrent to would be thieves and the police.

Judice said an investigation led to the discovery of sufficient evidence for a search warrant which was issued for the Duson home and an apartment in Lafayette where the renter of the Duson home resided.

Officers executed the initial search warrant on Kevin Drive in Duson followed by Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit execution of a search warrant at the suspect’s primary residence in Lafayette, Judice said. 

A total of 2,345.9 grams (5.2 pounds) of marijuana, 212 Dosage Unit of THC Vape Cartridges, 200 edible chocolate cannibas bars for a total street value of $68,118.00 in illegal drugs, additionally a 2009 Mercedes Benz C Series and 2014 Dodge Charger, two guns, cash and paraphernalia were recovered.

The investigation is continuing and additional arrest are possible, as agents and officers identify additional persons involved, Judice said. 

35 year old Donovan Hollier of Lafayette was arrested for possession with the intent to distribute marijuana and is in the Acadia Parish Jail in lieu of $150,000.00 bond.

Hollier faces additional charges in Lafayette Parish, Judice said.
